IDRN Korea
IDRN Korea started its first disaster relief training in Seoul in 2012, and has trained about 1,900 disaster relief workers in Korea, the United States, China, Canada, Russia, etc. as of 2024. Of the primary Legacy Groups, this group is the youngest.
Disaster relief workers provide relief supplies such as food, clothing, shelter, energy, and medicine to disaster refugees such as North Korean residents in the event of war, natural disasters, and unification, and prepare resources (people and materials) to help recovery, and carry out relief activities at disaster sites at home and abroad.
Former Republic of Korea (ROK) Naval Commander (retired), Timothy Park, currently leads the IDRN Korea group who has trained hundreds of people with Legacy IDRN 1100, 1300, and 1500 training modules.
During the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey, IDRN Korea and sister organizations traveled to Turkey to assist with relief – gaining valuable experience. Similarly, IDRN volunteers assisted with regional forest fires.
This group is organized and maintained under the local non-profit group Together International.
